Housing 21 Architect calfordseaden Value £3.6m Completion date September 2002 Contract form PPC2000 The construction of a 40 bed sheltered scheme with communal and day care facilities. This was the first scheme in the country to use a new hollowcore planking system which removes the need for cambering, improves accuracy so allows speedier construction and better performance in use. The scheme was value-engineered to include triple-glazed argon-filled aluminium clad windows, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and under-floor heating. This ensured that the building is energy efficient and cost effective to run. This scheme is part of a series of developments for Housing 21 under a strategic partnering relationship. |
