Stanhope receives Demonstration Project Status

Following a very successful first year, the National Skills Academy for Construction at Stanhope was awarded Demonstration Project status from the National Housing Forum in November 2008.

Demonstration Projects are active construction projects that are innovating or applying an element of best practice.  Constructing Excellence works with these leading-edge projects to capture the learning from them and uses that learning to influence change in the industry.

Covering 10 aspects of skills training from school engagement through to provision of NVQs for the existing workforce, Stanhope has a dedicated Skills Centre on site and a full-time Project Training Coordinator.

We host a number of Industry Interaction days through our National Skills Academy at Stanhope where our clients, training organisations and contractors can learn more about the skills centre.

Christina Montague from Construction Skills South East said;

 "Denne have a right to be very proud of what has been achieved on this site."

David Smith from the Learning Skills Council for Kent and Medway said

 "The LSC is delighted with the success of the innovative South East project."
