| First National Skills Academy Launched in the South East |

The Stanhope development in Asford, Kent is the first project in the South East to be accredited by the National Skills Academy and the first Nationally to be funded. The Project Training Plan for Stanhope includes providing apprenticeship and work experience placements, curriculum development, delivering workshops with schools and colleges, and On Site Assessment for the existing workforce. Delegates from ConstructionSkills, SEEDA, Ashford Borough Council, Learning & Skills Council, Skills South East and members of the Chrysalis consortium attended the Launch of the training centre. The launch event included students from Beaver Green School, who presented the work that they had carried out in connection with a construction project and the 2nd Year GCSE Construction Group from the Towers Secondary School.
