The Denne Charitable Trust was set up to offer assistance to local charities, with particular emphasis on those with disabilities or medical need.   Since setting up the trust over 12 years ago, we have raised in excess of £250,000 for local charitable projects.

Organisations benefiting from the involvement of the Denne Charitable Trust include:

Kent Paralympians Fund

The Denne Charitable Trust has set up a specific fund in anticipation of the 2012 Paralympics. The Trust has allocated £25,000 to the fund, which is keen to provide assistance where there is real need to those in the Kent area.

The fund will help to help pay for necessary preparation; equipment and training for disabled athletes who have the ability to be possible competitors at the London Paralympic Games in 2012.

Nathan Milgate, from Herne Bay was the first to be chosen in November 2005 to receive £2,500 from the Fund which is also supported by Kent County Council's Sports Development Unit.

Six further disabled athletes were awarded funding support from the Kent Paralympian Fund in 2006.

The successful 2006 Kent Paralympian Fund recipients were:

  • Canterbury - Alastair McKean (rowing)
  • Tonbridge and Malling - Darren Leach (swimming)
  • Dartford - Emma Kent (equestrian)
  • Maidstone - Alexander Adams (swimming)
  • Tunbridge Wells - William Bailey (table tennis)
  • Ashford - Michael Cogswell (sailing)

Kent Air Ambulance

The Denne Charitable Trusts donation of £5000 to the Kent Air Ambulance was one of the first donations received in support of the Doctors on Board appeal.

David Philpott, Chief Executive of the Kent Air Ambulance said, "the very welcome donation will help us to fund doctors on board which is a significant step for Kent Air Ambulance Trust. Without question the donation will mean the difference between life and death for some people in our county."

Odyssey

The Denne Charitable Trust are delighted to support Odyssey's excellent work.  The Trust has supported Odyssey over a number of years, which is a charity that enhances the quality of life for people with cancer through imaginative programmes of challenging and dramatic activities using the outdoors.
