Sustainability is central to the way we develop designs and deliver projects. Denne have been selected by Crest Nicholson BioRegional Quintain to build the world's first One Planet Living® Community 1 - One Brighton; a mixed-use development incorporating 177 mixed tenure homes. This will also be the UK's first commercially viable zero carbon development. One Planet Living® together with the Code for Sustainable Homes have set the agenda for design in the residential sector. Our in-house Sustainable Homes working group, technical team and our specialist environmental consultants ensure that the company is fully geared to assessing design requirements, complying with the new regulations and offering imaginative environmental and energy solutions. Our 10 point Sustainable Construction Plan sets out how the construction process is managed to reduce impact on the environment and support local communities. This includes policies on waste, green travel plans, site-based energy management, sustainable water, fair trade procurement, health & welfare and Community engagement. Denne have developed comprehensive waste management and recycled content systems. Our Site Waste Management Plans are developed to systematically manage and minimise waste streams throughout the supply chain. Our Recycled material content assessment model is used to identify opportunities for using reclaimed materials and those with a high recycled content. Denne have been working with groups such as WRAP, Envirowise, One Planet Products and BioRegional Reclaimed to develop our approach to sustainable design and delivery.
1 One Planet Living is a joint venture between WWF and BioRegional. |
